Sergey Zhigunov (born January 2, 1963) is a distinguished Soviet and Russian actor, film producer, and director, best known for his portrayal of Alexander Belov in the iconic adventure miniseries Gardes-Marines, Ahead! and its sequels. A graduate of the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute, he became a household name and a "romantic hero" of the late 1980s before successfully pivoting to production, where he spearheaded high-profile TV projects like Queen Margot and The Countess de Monsoreau. In the 2000s, he achieved a second wave of popularity starring as Maksim Shatalin in the hit sitcom My Fair Nanny. By 2025, Zhigunov has transitioned primarily into a veteran industry role, serving as a prominent producer and director of historical and adventure films—including his own 2013 adaptation of The Three Musketeers—while continuing to appear in select television dramas and serving as a public figure in the Russian film community.
