Ilya Shakunov (born August 13, 1970) is a distinguished Russian stage and screen actor celebrated for his understated charisma and intellectual depth in dramatic roles. After studying at the St. Petersburg State Institute of Performing Arts (under Veniamin Filshtinsky), he became a core member of the Bryantsev Youth Theatre (TYuZ), where he established himself as a versatile theatrical talent. Shakunov rose to national prominence in the early 2000s through his lead role in the psychological drama Ice (2003) and the high-stakes television series Montecristo (2008), where his portrayal of a man seeking justice earned him widespread acclaim.
