Getting Started

What is myCast.io?: myCast.io is the internet's largest fan casting community. You can create dream casts for movies, TV shows, plays, and other projects — then let the community vote on who should play each role.
Do I need an account?: You can browse fan casts and talent pages without an account. To create stories, suggest talent, vote, comment, or upload photos, you'll need to sign up for a free account.
Is myCast.io free?: Yes. Creating fan casts, voting, and commenting are all free. We also offer optional premium features for power users.

How do I create a fan cast?: Click "Add a Story" and search for a movie, TV show, or create an original project. Define the roles that need casting, then invite the community to suggest and vote on talent.
What's the difference between official and user stories?: Official stories are real movies and TV shows sourced from TMDB (The Movie Database). User stories can be anything — original projects, reimagined classics, or hypothetical reboots.
Can I edit a story after creating it?: Yes. Story creators can edit titles, descriptions, add or remove roles, and manage permissions for their stories.

How do I suggest an actor for a role?: Open a story, find the role you want to cast, and click the suggest button. Search for the actor or talent you have in mind and submit your suggestion.
How does voting work?: Each suggestion can be upvoted or downvoted. The suggestion with the highest score rises to the top. You can vote once per suggestion — click again to change your vote.
What is a confirmed casting?: Story creators can confirm a suggestion as the official casting choice for a role. Confirmed castings are highlighted on the story page.

How are talent profiles created?: Talent profiles are automatically created from TMDB data when an actor is first suggested. You can also add new talent manually if they aren't in the database.
Can I upload photos?: Yes. Logged-in users can upload photos to talent profiles. Photos are reviewed for quality and appropriateness. The community votes on which photo becomes the default.
What is Cast Meter?: Cast Meter is our ranking system that tracks which talent is trending based on suggestion activity, votes, and overall community engagement.

How do I change my username or email?: Go to your profile settings to update your username, email, or other account details.
How do I delete my account?: Contact us at support@mycast.io to request account deletion. We'll remove your account and associated personal data.
I found inappropriate content. How do I report it?: Use the "Report" button found on stories, suggestions, comments, and photos. Our moderation team reviews all reports.
