Marinette Dupain-Cheng (born on August, the 9th), also known as Ladybug is Adrien Agreste's love interest, Chargeshock's protégé, a new transfer student at Xavier high school and a major character in the fourth season of the Chargeshock Thompson & the Justice Avengers series created by Man of Action.
Appearance
Marinette is a petite teenage girl of French-Asian descent with blue-black hair usually tied into pigtails and blue eyes. Her casual outfit consists of a white t-shirt with black stitching, a flower-shaped design below the collar at the right. Her shirt has a small black bow formed in the middle with matching frilled trimming at the top, a dark blazer with pink lining on the collar and a matching pink Sakura flower-shaped print adjacent to either side of said collar, and capri jeans. She’s often seen carrying her signature purse packed with random gadgets and inventions — most of which are “still in testing.”
As Ladybug, she wears her iconic red-and-black spotted suit, slightly redesigned to fit the Justice Avengers aesthetic — more tactical armor plates and a glowing blue pattern along the edges of her mask. Her yo-yo functions as both a weapon and a multi-tool gadget designed for communication, hacking, and traversal.
Personality
Marinette is a creative genius with a chaotic streak and a heart of gold. Her civilian persona dials her clumsiness and nervousness up to eleven; she’s well-meaning but accident-prone, constantly tripping over her own inventions or her words — especially around Adrien.
Despite being more of a comic relief character with endless awkwardness, Marinette’s intelligence and creativity make her a vital team member. She’s known for her quirky inventions that “almost” work perfectly (until they explode, backfire, or accidentally short-circuit Jake’s suit). She’s unpredictable, scatterbrained, yet brilliant when it counts.
As Ladybug, Marinette transforms into a completely different person: confident, headstrong, witty, and sometimes reckless. She jumps headfirst into danger, often without thinking, earning her a reputation as both a brave hero and a tactical headache. Her cockiness and impulsive streak sometimes clash with Chargeshock’s leadership and Ghoststrike’s professionalism, leading to comedic tension on missions.
Despite her joyful and bubbly exterior, underneath hides a girl, who's insecure and scared to make another mistake or feel useless again. According to herself, she was afraid to help her world's version of Chargeshock after getting her power, whose source was the Ladybug Miraculous. She felt immense guilt after seeing him die and after seeing her father, Tom sacrifice himself in order to save her. Marinette soon became a hero, after accepting the responsibility of the job.
Since settling in the main universe, Marinette has become attached to the Justice Avengers whom she saw as a surrogate family. After reuniting with her mother and defeating Stormshock, Marinette made the decision to stay in Jake's universe after her mother comes with her.
Early Life
Marinette Dupain-Cheng exists in an alternate reality in which Jake Thompson died in battle against the Absolute Electro Monster. Marinette witnessed the event but having received her powers just before the incident was unable to help and felt guilty ever since.
Marinette became the new hero in town and presumably her parents were aware of this, since her mother, Sabine Cheng, knew her identity.

Friends and Allies
Adrien Agreste/Cat Noir: Marinette’s hopeless, starry-eyed crush. She goes full fangirl whenever he’s around, often creating hilariously awkward moments mid-battle. Adrien finds her antics endearing but confusing. After the two of them started dating, Marinette started acting like the best possible girlfriend around Adrien, often showering him with compliments, affection, giving him gifts and often protecting him when in battle.
Jake Thompson/Chargeshock: Marinette deeply admires Jake’s charisma and leadership and sees him as the big brother she never had, though he’s often exasperated by her chaotic energy. According to Jake, she's the other chaotic little sister, he never knew he needed. Still, he trusts her creativity and values her heart and is often the one she always reaches out to first, when she needs guidance, when she wants a piece of advice or help when her inventions blow up.
Sally Gómez/Ghoststrike: Marinette’s self-proclaimed rival. She’s envious of Sally’s cool, composed ninja style and incredible skill, often trying (and failing) to one-up her. Sally, however, doesn’t engage in the rivalry, preferring to focus on what she does best and on her relationship with Jake — she finds Marinette’s jealousy amusing but harmless.
Michael Green/Goldspeed: Michael finds Marinette’s clumsiness hilarious and often teases her and makes jokes at her expense, but he’s also the first to help her when her inventions blow up.
Max Robinson/Soundwave: They share chaotic inventor energy and have a running gag of “testing” inventions that usually end in comedic disasters. They also team up to constantly prank Dennis just to annoy him.
Powers and Abilities
Lucky Charm: Ladybug can summon a random magical object that helps her solve complex problems — often through creative improvisation.
Enhanced Agility and Reflexes: As Ladybug, she’s agile, fast, and capable of incredible acrobatics.
Yo-Yo Weapon: Multifunctional gadget capable of grappling, attacking, scanning, and even deflecting energy blasts.
Creative Ingenuity: Marinette’s biggest strength is her mind. Even when her gadgets go haywire, her ability to think outside the box often turns mistakes into victories.
Chaos Energy (Metaphorically): Marinette has an uncanny knack for causing trouble that somehow leads to success — what the team jokingly calls “the Marinette Effect.”
Trivia
Marinette has a habit of nervously rambling when panicking, sometimes mixing French and English mid-sentence.
She’s the only team member with a crush radar that malfunctions when Adrien is nearby.
Her catchphrase during missions: “Tactical enthusiasm, baby!”
The team’s nickname for her is “Mayhem Bug.”
Cristina Vee reprises her iconic role as Marinette/Ladybug, giving her a more comedic and expressive tone for this version.
