Jake Thompson

Jacob "Jake" Charles Thompson (born June, the 7th 1996), also known as Chargeshock is a Human-Galra hybrid, the leader of the Justice Avengers, the son of the police officer of New York, Derrick Thompson and the titular protagonist of Chargeshock Thompson & the Justice Avengers. Physical appearance Jake is a tall and fair-skinned teenage boy, with a jet black wolf cut with side bangs, swept on the left, ocean blue eyes. His usual attire consists of a yellow hoodie, a couple of silver chains, blue jeans and black and white sneakers As Chargeshock, his hair gets spiky and he wears a blue suit with black accents and a lightning logo on the crest. Personality A natural leader with a magnetic presence himself, Jake is confident, popular, charismatic and daring. He is the most calm and laid back out of the bunch, which makes him the most level headed when he is in battle and in life. He is also highly intelligent, which means he is one of the top students in his class and even revealed Electro Monster's real identity as Nicholas Osborn. His high intelligence also results in him being a science whiz, as he always shown to had knowledge about the source of Electro Monster's power and the power core of Dr. Tarantula's suit. Jake is a handsome individual, as he has a lot of girls falling head over heels in love with him and it was also Tessa Márquez and Jessica Stone having 70 pictures of him each. He is also flirtatious around women, but he never takes advantage of them, since he knows a girl's heart is "not a toy". He is really aware of his appeal, but he isn't vain about it. And despite having multiple girls crushing on him, he's got eyes for one girl, and that's Sally, who he fell in love with after realising his feelings for her after she saved him from getting annihilated by Dr. Tarantula. He has a snarky tongue and a sharp wit, which can sometimes make him wisecrack and basically make jokes or sarcastic quips in battle and even in the worst possible situations. He also has a habit of taunting his opponents during battle, which he likes to call a strategy to get under their skin. As Chargeshock, he keeps three quarters of his personality and is quick to adapt and react in dangerous situations. He is resilient, strategic and takes initiative, making sure his team's identities are kept secret and even giving them indications when on missions. He uses his powers in ways no one would have imagined. He is the first to jump at the call when the city is in danger, showing his heroic and selfless side, no matter the circumstances. He also shows concern for his team, as he always puts their needs before his own and makes an honest effort to connect with them no matter how often he scolds someone for their lack of focus. He is not fond of the idea of abandoning a teammate, since one of his mottos is "Nobody should be left behind". He often acts as the mediator in arguments, often reminding his teammates that they're a team and they shouldn't let small misunderstandings ruin that. Jake has a strong sense of justice, meaning that he will always stand up against bad people and always help others when they're in need, as he made a promise to his mother that he'll always stand up to those who are cruel and unfair. Despite his usual cool headed exterior, Jake is not immune to being short tempered, impulsive and stubborn, especially when his loved ones are hurt or in danger. He can also lose track of his rational side and get easily angered by injustice, but he makes up for it for being serious when he needs to be and stepping up when it counts. He is also known to be a competent and reliable leader and the most mature out of the bunch. One of his key traits is compassion, a trait that he shows by always being there for his team and understanding them when they open up about something when they how they act. Especially when Sally opens up to him. That trait is also shown when despite the things most bad guys did, he chose to let them live instead of killing them. Jake is shown to have several hobbies throughout the series. He is a rapper, singer and songwriter (basically a musician), who makes a lot of money out of music. He is a seasoned skater, as he has a skateboard in his room and often goes out skateboarding in his free time. He enjoys playing video games and reading comics, as he's got a lot of DC video games and a stash of Green Lantern comics. He is also known for being the most fashionable of the bunch, as everyone can always see that he wears outfits that are cool and stylish at the same time, and is shown to care a lot about the way he looks, which can make him seem superficial sometimes. But despite this, he's neither snobbish nor narcissistic. Despite his easygoing exterior, in his day to day life and as Chargeshock, Jake can sometimes be a perfectionist, which is rather due to the huge responsibility he has as the leader of the Justice Avengers, his insecurities and fear of failing them, not being able to save everyone and being betrayed by one of his close ones. He is also shown to be overprotective of his team, which could have been caused by his mother abandoning him, his dad and his brothers and somehow, someone mysteriously killing his uncle back when he was 10 years old. He never knew why his mother left, but he always hoped it was for a good reason. He often acts like an older brother and a mentor to younger heroes and newbies and often gives them chances to become better as people and as heroes, as seen when as Chargeshock, he trained Ladybug into becoming a better hand to hand fighter and strategist, instead of just relying on her powers. He also encourages her to not let other people's opinions influence her, but to be also open to feedback. Not only that, but he also showed her that despite having a lot of responsibility on her shoulders, she doesn't have to do anything or even carry it alone. He is also shown to be fond of his siblings, despite their differences. One of the examples that show it is when Jake grew a wolf cut mullet in the honor of his older brother, Keith after he left for the Galaxy Garrison. Powers, Abilities and Equipment Powers Electrokinesis: Chargeshock has a considerable amount of electricity at his disposal, and by extension he also has the power of electrokinesis, meaning that he can create and influence the direction and form of the electricity that's generated from his hands with extreme precision. This allows him to fire out beams of electrical energy, charge up large bombs of electricity, explosions of electricity or something more complicated like waves of electricity. Additionally, Chargeshock can use his stored electricity to propel himself through the air at high speeds. Energy Absorption and Conversion: Chargeshock's most notable ability is being able to absorb and redirect energy attacks, most commonly electricity, using his fingers. He can use this ability physically or remotely on objects or opponents to drain them of their energy. Absorbing external energy will supercharge his electricity beams, making them more powerful. Chargeshock is able to absorb electricity generated by Electro-Minions; an energy beam from an Ion Cannon; and Electro Monster's energy attacks. Additionally, Chargeshock can also redirect energy, as demonstrated when he redirected the Electro Monster's energy at Dr. Tarantula. Electrokinetic Propulsion: Chargeshock can use these energy blasts to propel himself into the air and achieve a state of temporary flight. Abilities Master Martial Artist Hand to hand combat: Jake's specialty lies in close-combat with martial arts and bladed sidearms, using a fighting style said to be more Galran than human. He is a skilled and aggressive martial artist able to take down the Bounty Hunters in mere moments with a few powerful strikes. He is a master hand-to-hand combatant, who can take out his enemies with ease, possessing knowledge in martial arts, agility and various weapons due to his years of extensive training in Karate. His style consists of a combination between Karate, Judo, Aikido, Muay Thai and Jujitsu. Master acrobat: As Chargeshock, Jake has proven to be able to perform complex aerial maneuvers. Enhanced Strength: His strength is to such a high degree that he could easily toss other Galra soldiers, knock them out with a few blows and even without muscular strength he could indent a brick wall with no repercussions. Enhanced Durability: In one fight with El Toro, he was durable enough to take a couple of blows and survive being sent flying through a wall. Enhanced Ability: Jake's agility stats are officially the highest; He effortlessly fought against El Toro, using his superior agility to his advantage. Enhanced Speed: As long as Chargeshock has a consistent source of electricity, he can move as faster than a speeding vehicle. Enhanced Reflexes: Jake was able to easily kick one of the Bounty Hunters' missiles away. Piloting: At the Plumbers Academy, Jake was the top pilot of his class. This legacy holds to his piloting as the designated pilot of the Justice Avengers, making him one of the most skilled pilots on the team, and trusted with dangerous feats such as safely navigating a field of ricocheting asteroids or flying near a black hole. Galran Heritage: Allows Jake to interface with Galran technology so he can open locked doors in Galra structures and activate Galra computer consoles; other non-Galran characters must use Shiro's prosthetic arm or the hands of Galra Sentry robots. This heritage grants him the ability to activate his Marmora blade into its awakened form. Genius Intellect: Jake has gifted intelligence, which he often uses in his daily life, whether it's to pass a test or do anything else. It is also shown that he is the best student in his class, along with Liam. He often relies on his intellect in battle to deceive and outwit his enemies. Expert Engineer: Jake can improvise or combine and repair his gadgets into a new one. It is also shown that he built his first gadgets from items he found in a box of scraps. Leadership Skills: He is a natural leader, taking the initiative on the missions giving order to the rest of the team. Detective skills: Due to his father being a police officer, Jake has shown astute deductive reasoning when he figured out Nicholas Osborn's secret identity as Electro Monster. He was also one of the first to figure out that Sally was Ghoststrike. Dr. Victor Van Damme once described Nightwing's logic as "flawless." Strategic planning: Nightwing is a natural leader and tactician, able to analyze most situations and develop complex and effective plans during combative situations in quick instances. Multilingualism: In addition to English, Jake has displayed the ability to understand at least French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, and American Sign Language. Basketball: Playing basketball is one of Jake's talents, allowing him to have high stamina, endurance, and agility in both his civilian and superhero identities. Skateboarding: Jake is proficient in skateboarding and would often ride his board around Manhattan. Parkour: He practiced this before of the accident at Osborn Unlimited. Musical Skill: Jake is a gifted musician, as he started rapping when he was 12 and has been playing guitar since he was 8. He is the famous rapper, singer, songwriter and producer, known as J-Trixx. Sally said once that he has a beautiful singing voice and Michael even stated that his flow is awesome and that he "spits fire" when he's rapping. His musical style consists of Hip Hop, Trap and R&B. Equipment Explosives On Earth, Jake detonated explosives to divert attention away from Luke's quarantined crash site, showing knowledge of guerrilla tactics and bombs. Hovercraft: A one-man blue hoverbike owned by Jake on Earth. Marmora Blade: A small double-edged knife made of luxite that can manifest into a larger, single-edge blade when activated by Jake's Galran heritage. Trivia His mother, Krolia wanted to name him Throk, but his father, Officer Derrick Thompson suggested Jake instead. Throk is a character from Voltron: Legendary Defender and is an officer of the Galra Empire working at Zarkon's Central Command Ship who plots to overthrow Prince Lotor's reign. Jake's favorite food is corndogs. Jake is fond of the outdoors because of how calming nature is.
