Boris Smolkin (born March 2, 1948) is a distinguished Soviet and Russian actor, singer, and television presenter, honored as a People's Artist of Russia. A graduate of the Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Music, and Cinematography (LGITMiK), he spent over three decades as a leading performer at the St. Petersburg Musical Comedy Theatre, where he became celebrated for his mastery of operetta and musical theater. While he has appeared in over 100 films—including Alexander Sokurov’s Russian Ark and the voice role of Master Yoda in the Russian dub of the Star Wars franchise—he achieved immense national fame in the mid-2000s for his iconic portrayal of the dry-witted butler Konstantin in the popular sitcom My Fair Nanny. By 2025, Smolkin remains a vibrant presence in Russian culture, continuing his stage career in touring productions like Number 13 and appearing in recent television projects such as Kulagins and the animated feature Formula of Water.
