Born on October 18, 1973, in Moscow, Sergey Bezrukov is one of Russia’s most popular and versatile actors, widely recognized for his ability to embody iconic cultural figures. After graduating from the Moscow Art Theatre School under Oleg Tabakov, he became a household name as the charismatic gang leader Sasha Belov in the cult crime series Brigada (2002). Bezrukov has since built a unique reputation for portraying legendary Russians, including poet Sergei Yesenin, Alexander Pushkin, and singer-songwriter Vladimir Vysotsky. In 2014, he was appointed the artistic director of the Moscow Gubernsky Theatre, where he has significantly influenced the contemporary stage. He remains a central figure in high-budget cinema—most recently starring in the legal drama Plevako (2024).
