The Spore Mother is a monster at the heart of the Fungal Lair. She emits the spores filling the air, which causes Sam to see her in an illusionary form. She will be fought alongside Phillippe, if the player let him join the party and brought him to the Spore Mother. Killing the Spore Mother causes all spores to disappear throughout the Fungal Lair. This also removes all mushroom monsters from the Lair, and kills Claire, Jean-Pierre, and Sylvain regardless of if they were rescued or not. The collectible Mushroom items found on the ground will remain however, and can be picked up.
