Dmitry Nazarov (born July 4, 1957) is a celebrated Russian stage and film actor, formerly a leading performer at the Moscow Art Theatre (Chekhov) and a recipient of the People's Artist of Russia title. A graduate of the Shchepkin Higher Theatre School, he gained massive nationwide popularity for his iconic portrayal of the temperamental Chef Viktor Barinov in the hit sitcom Kitchen (Kukhnya) and its various cinematic sequels. Beyond comedy, he is a classically trained dramatic actor known for his roles in the historical drama The Penal Battalion and as the voice of numerous animated characters. In early 2023, following his public opposition to the conflict in Ukraine, Nazarov moved to France, where he transitioned into a new phase of his career. By late 2025, he has become a prominent voice in the Russian diaspora, performing his satirical poetry and theatrical programs across Europe and North America while continuing to engage a large audience through his digital platforms.
