Clark Kent's close friend from childhood, Lana Bartsow, was aware of his true identity. As a detective's assistant, Lana once came upon a small alien that was being held captive by evil scientists in order to be used in an experiment. He offered her a Bio-Genetic Ring as thanks after Lana set the small alien free. She found herself covered in golden armor when she put the ring on. Lana, also known as the Scorpion Queen, battled alongside the All-Star Winners Squadron and Super-Soldier.
