Tania Kovar was one of Russia's youngest neurosurgeons and a child prodigy. She was exposed to weird radiation and had amazing powers. Tania discovered that she could no longer practice medicine since she was continually releasing radiation. The Russian government provided her with a containment suit, and she completed training to become their own superhero. She went by the name Red Starlight and used her skills to protect her country, but when her father was sent to Siberia, she escaped. Red Starlight fled with her father to America, where she joined the Freedom Defenders.
