Cassandra was raised to be a killer like her father, the assassin David St. Ives. She was given a cursed sword that granted powers on her but might harm her if she were to lose contact with it. Her father kidnapped a young girl and used her as a human shield while fighting Dark Claw. Cassandra turned on her father out of rage and killed him with her cursed sword. Cassandra was adopted by Dark Claw, and she later became known as Vesper.
