Alexi was about to be hit by a truck, when Piotr turned into living metal and stopped it. He discovered that he was a metmutant, unlike Alexi. Alexi left Piotr alone out of jealousy. He received an invitation to join the X-Patrol from the mysterious time traveler Niles Cable in the future.
