Pamela Darkholme made the decision to use her abilities to protect the planet's ecosystem after learning that she was a metamutant. Instead of emerging as a hero, she took the name Botanique and turned into an ecoterrorist who would stop pollution and deforestation at any means. Dark Claw became aware of Botanique's attacks on factories in Gotham as a result, and the two quickly came into conflict. Even though she is a villain, she is connected to the Nightcreeper, a metamutant hero, because it is believed that she is his mother.
