Virginia Wade is a British former professional tennis player, best known for winning the 1977 Wimbledon singles title. She reached a career high world ranking of 2 and won 55 singles titles in her career, including three Grand Slams. After retiring in 1986, Wade became a prominent sports commentator for the BBC and was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
