The Shadow is a friendly creature that may randomly appear in areas outside your home. It has taken a liking to Sam. If the player encourages its attention in their encounters, it will become more friendly and appear more frequently. If met and treated well enough times, it will eventually appear by Sam's bed as he sleeps and invite him to step into its robes. Sam will be lovingly, but agonizingly, disassembled and kept alive within for eternity, leading to an immediate game over, if he succumbs to the suggestion. If he rebukes the Shadow for this, it will take the hint and remain respectful of his boundaries. If he doesn't tell it to leave, it will remain in his living room, and offer occasional random item gifts. If attacked, it will only gaze silently and not fight back.
