First appeared in Firestorm Vol. 2 #28 in 1984 and was created by Gerry Conway and Rafael Kayanan. Christopher Weiss was a scientist who invented adhesive that made his ropes unbreakable and became known as Slipknot. He was later tasked by the 2000 Committee to kidnap Lorraine Reilly.
