Robo-Z is a playable character from the Bust A Groove series. Robo-Z is the final boss for both Bust A Groove games. Robo-Z was constructed by a tyrannical organization named "Secret X" where they were built for the sole purpose of harnessing total power of the Groovetron. Robo-Z is 52 meters tall when competing against them but when playing as Robo-Z, they are about the same height as other characters. In Heat's ending in the first game, Robo-Z was defeated by Heat and went into flames and bursted in explosion as the Groovetron releases from its body and hits Heat directly.
In Bust A Groove 2, Robo-Z reappears as Robo-Z Gold who is described as a giant robot controlled by the evil organization “Secret X,” which abuses the “Groovetron,” a magic stone that holds unlimited power in the universe. The scientist in charge of the modification forgot to tighten one screw, causing the robot to act unexpectedly from time to time. Robo-Z is good at moving quickly and their dance style is voguing. Although they are not a fashion-conscious person, they seem to be secretly pleased with the gold coloring of their body, which gives them a slightly more luxurious appearance. When the player defeats them in their boss stage and during FEVER TIME!, Robo-Z Gold sinks into the ocean while its body blows up. Like Pander, Robo-Z Gold does not have an ending in the Japanese version of Bust A Groove 2 since he was responsible for stomping the Dancing Heroes' host, James Suneoka when he is about to introduce another guest to narrate his or her story comically as his giant feet can be seen through the ceiling. After Robo-Z Gold's dance performance, James is seen in its flattened state when he concludes the show.
