Rebecca Pearson-Rivas (née Malone) is the overall protagonist of This Is Us. The series follows her life and the lives of the people she loved most. She was born to Dave Malone and Janet Malone. She was the wife of Jack Pearson until his death in 1998, and later, the wife of Miguel Rivas until his death in the late 2020's. She was the mother of Kate, Kevin, and Randall. At the start of the series in 1980, she and Jack had just moved into a new home in Pittsburgh and were expecting triplets. At the start of the series in 2016, she lived in New York with Miguel.
