First appeared in 2001, A Space Odyssey Vol. 2 #8 in 1977 and was created by Jack Kirby. X-51 was the only robotic soldier left intact by the U.S. military after an experiment that was deemed to have failed. Dr. Abel Stack had saved X-51 and the latter took on the aliases Aaron Stack and Machine Man.
