Joy is a 14-year-old actor living in Nashville, Tennessee. She was adopted at birth by her American parents while they were living and working in Laos. Joy is SE Asian - Vietnamese, Lao/Thai, and Chinese Dai. Blessed to not only be a world traveler, but she has also lived in five countries in Asia, the USA, and Canada.
Joy's first acting role at 6 years old was for an MFA thesis film "Min Min and The Magic Garden" where she played the lead role of Min. She not only played a child adopted from a Chinese orphanage but also miraculously changed into an animated character during the film - giving her a touch of voiceover/studio experience as well. She loved filming on the backlot at Universal Studios - Orlando and was captivated forever by the entertainment industry and being an entertainer. From that first film, Joy moved along quickly, booking various roles in short films and commercials. Eventually obtaining representation by top agents and managers in Los Angeles and working on TV shows, projects, and national commercials. Joy has enjoyed appearances on the shows General Hospital, Superstore, Jane the Virgin, Henry Danger, and many others. Joy has most recently worked on the Disney+ show Doogie Kamealoha, Season 2.
When she isn't on set, swimming in the turquoise waters of the South Pacific, or attending her Charter for the Arts, Joy studies advanced martial arts and Polynesian/Hula dance.
