Charli Ramsey was a member of the Oglala Band of the Lakota Nation, a Native American tribe. Raised by a father who spent his time watching classic western movies, they grew up resentful of the world around them, especially the treatment of their people by Roxxon Energy Partners.
In January 2024, Charli discovered discarded equipment intended for Clint Barton, a would-be superhero archer who ultimately declined the offer. Ramsey retrieved the bow and arrows, heard a recorded message from Tony Stark, and perceived it as a vision of their destiny. They adopted the name of the intended hero and became Hawkeye. They proceeded to disrupt numerous Roxxon operations until Tony sent Captain America to reclaim the equipment. After a brief fight, the two worked together to take down Roxxon's Cleanup Crew, Charli earning Cap's trust in the process.[1]
