Far Cry 8 has set in the fictional Middle-Eastern and North African country of Ummah ruled by the Ba'athist dictator Ahriman Sayyid, he is primarily based on Saddam Hussein, the former dictator of Iraq as both men oversaw a brutal regime of government repression, genocide, censorship and corruption, with plenty of options when it comes to set pieces, as the region is full of a variety of different environments spanning urban and rural settings. There would also be the potential for mountainous regions, sahara dunes, nomad tribes, ancient myths and mosques until the country of Ummah was liberated by the rebels against Sayyid's regime.
