First appeared in Hero for Hire #1 in 1972 and was created by Archie Goodwin and George Tuska. Willis Stryker/Diamondback was the childhood friend of Carl Lucas and a member of the gang The Rivals with him until framing him for possession of drugs leading to the latter's arrest. He is skilled in throwing knives. In the live-action series Luke Cage, he is the half-brother of the titular character and the main antagonist of the first season.
