Cecil Stedman is a major character in Invincible, debuting from Season 1 and onwards. He is the director of the Global Defense Agency.
For many years, Cecil has dedicated himself to safeguarding Earth and its inhabitants from various superpowered dangers by partnering with numerous superheroes, such as the Guardians of the Globe and Omni-Man. After the massacre of the Guardians of the Globe, he aimed to find the killer but soon discovered it was, in fact, Omni-Man. Owing in part to the brave efforts of Invincible, Omni-Man's son, Nolan was prevented from fulfilling his aim of conquering Earth. Since Nolan departed Earth, Cecil has been enhancing its defenses, from creating numerous robotic superhuman soldiers to training Invincible to gain the power required to face the strongest Viltrumites in the upcoming invasion. Despite facing a few morale debacle with Invincible, the two still continued to aid one another in times of crisis. After the defeat of Conquest, Cecil secretly detained him in The Block for questioning and experimentation so the G.D.A. could finally find a way to stop the Viltrum Empire.
