Captain Pinbacker is the main antagonist of the 2007 science fiction film Sunshine.
He was the Commander of the Icarus One who abandoned the mission to restore the Sun after a Q-Ball got trapped inside of a star, causing to rot from the inside and cool off, leaving in a freezing solar winter, because he believed it was God's will for humanity to die, Several years later, when the crew of Icarus II attempt to finish the mission, he attempts to stop them before they can trigger the bomb that will restore the Sun.
