The titular Auctioneer. Charming, smooth-talking, wide-mouthed, and sociopathic. Perly moves into Harlowe under the pretense of bettering the community through a series of auctions - first used furniture and clothing; then necessary household items; then food, pets, crops, and land; and finally children and wives. His team of officers arrange ‘accidents’ on his orders for anyone who speaks against him. He has it out for John specifically and lusts over Mim. He plans to run all of the poor citizens of Harlowe out of town, sell their land and homes, and create a new suburbia for upper-middle class families. His age is unclear - probably 40-70, but his hair is a graying dark brown
