Synopsis

Harrowing tensions explode in a series of events that could happen anywhere, to anyone, just as they do to John Moore—whose days of freedom run out, who is stripped of his possessions, his courage, and his hopes, one by one, by the ominous presence of an insidious stranger impossible to resist.

Description of Mim Moore:

John’s wife, Hildie’s mother. Mim was once the prettiest girl in town, and fell hard for the handsome, older John Moore. She had Hildie later than most women in the town, in her mid-30’s. She fears her good looks are fading though they aren’t. Mim takes care of Ma, and works as hard as any man in the town. Longs for simple luxuries (such as indoor plumbing), but ultimately Mim’s happy with what she has. Medium-short dark hair. Perly lusts after her, and makes threats towards her family. Mim is aged in her mid 40’s
