An Angel of Heaven, he is known to never speak aloud. When he and his brother Remiel were assigned as wardens of Hell, Remiel initially protested the assignment, leaving Duma to accept the key to Hell's gates. Ashamed, Remiel told Dream "I cannot allow my fellow to drink from a cup I have refused. I will go with Duma." The pair then traveled to Hell and re-opened the gates, taking up their positions as caretakers.
