Stanley Dover encounters and befriends a huge yet timid monster hiding out in the local sewers. Stanley names the monster "Spot" and takes him home to live in his house in secret. The monster, unbeknownst to Stanley, is in fact a demon known as "The Beast With No Name", who had been banished from Hell for being "too nice."
