Reed Richards built the first model of the Humanoid Experimental Robot, B-type Integrated Electronics in grade school out of junkyard parts and gutted toys. His later models of "H.E.R.B.I.E." are much more advanced, capable of withstanding the vacuum of space or the melting heat of an erupting volcano, accessing computer terminals or even handling mundane chores like cooking breakfast. In fact, H.E.R.B.I.E. seems to show signs of emotional understanding and attachment to the FF that borders on the human.
