The fusion of DC's Flash and Marvel's Ghost Rider. Mystic Blaze Allen was found by the Night Spectre. When Blaze Allen resisted letting the Night Spectre take his soul, it retreated. Father Hellstrom ultimately wedded Blaze Allen and Iris Simpson. Iris had her soul stolen by The Night Spectre, who appeared soon after Blaze and Iris' wedding. Blaze consequently felt a deep feeling of regret and retribution and started to become more involved with magic. After some time, Merlin approached Blaze and helped him establish a connection with Etrigan. This made it possible for Blaze to change into the Speed Demon and protect Iris' soul from the Night Spectre, allowing her to rest in peace.
