Jennifer Cassidy, the lawyer who was defending her client, was unaware that he was under the control of a demon when she was representing him. A blast of hellfire was directed towards her by the demon. No medication or medical intervention could help Jennifer because of the seriousness of her injuries. She was saved by a gamma-irradiated blood transfusion, which was an experimental treatment. Jennifer discovers she has been changed into the She-Devil, a fighter with green skin and demonic horns, and she uses her new powers for good.
