Tim Drake was a prodigy as a young child and wanted to be a detective. Tim figured out Moonwing's and his replacement's identities as a teenager. Tim chose to become the third version of the Moonwing after the death of the second version, Jason Todd. Even though Tim was a talented detective, he didn't make a great Moonwing, which led Dick Grayson to retake the title. Tim was taken under Dick and Bruce Wayne's wing to receive training to become a true superhero since they saw potential in him. Dick gave Tim guidance when he developed metamutant powers. Tim took to the air as Raptor, the Boy Ricochet, under Moonwing's watchful eye.
