Ryan Richmond, who became orphaned as a teenager after his parents died in a car accident, escaped to the desert where he gradually learned to control his metamutant powers. Ryan was able to fly like the birds he felt such a connection with by using his telekinesis to lift himself and then flapping the artificial wings he made for himself. He eventually joined the Freedom Defenders and took on the identity of the Nightcondor, an environmental activist.
