Antigonus was one of the veteran generals during Alexander's campaigns, he also served under Philip. He commanded phalanx's battalions. He was known as "Monophtalmos" due to the fact that he had only an eye. After Alexander's death he gained Frigia, and after the peace of Triparadisus (321) all Asian territories. He was defeated in 301 by Seleucus, Lisimachus, and Cassander at Ipsus. His son, Demetrius "the siege winner", established the ruling dynasty of Macedon, from 296 until the Roman conquest in 168.
