Alan Horus began as a fan archivist for Morgan Stern in the 1990s. He went on to a successful career as a "pulp" fantasy author whose "World Aeternus" series was seen as a "store brand" alternative to the worlds created by his mentor and idol. Since 2000, Horus has invested in the creation of an open world MMORPG set in his universe. WIth 50 million "residents" he has achieved fame, wealth, and recognition on par with Morgan Stern. His friendship-turned-rivalry with Stern may be turning to something darker as Stern's corporation sets its sights on buying into Aeternus or starting up a competitive virtual reality world of its own.
