Meanwhile, Rio, the leader of Rin Jūken Akugata, and Mere, a cruel and malevolent practitioner returned as evil and more powerful than ever, at that time, Santiago Montes destroyed Rio and Mere with a magical pirate sword. When the evil in Rio and Mere’s souls were gone, Santiago, his crew, Rio and Mere decided to join the Gekirangers while Santiago transformed into GekiGreen, Lorelai transformed into GekiPink, Tomás transformed into GekiSilver, and Rio and Mere transformed into GekiBlack and GekiChameleon to fight Esclara and her army.

A new invasion force is established under Commanders Warz Gill and Esclara la Pirata plotting to take over the world. Santiago, his crew and the space pirates use the powers of the older teams and attempt to master their powers to fight Zangyack and Esclara’s forces as the Gokaigers.

After Burntrap was made an Afton empire, it set its sights on Earth. To defend it, the Malaysian military forms an elite Liberty Defense Force. Under Commander Reina, the force begins rigorous training. Meanwhile, as their first act, the leader of Le decides to eliminate those who pose the greatest risk of interfering with their invasion: the military. After a brutal day of training, the Liberty Defense Force recruits are fed up with Reina's cruel ways and leave the training session. Soon afterward, they are attacked by A.K.I. And the Afton troops. Five surviving officers (Min Min, Cammy, Gregory, Lili, and Manon) gather together, beaten and exhausted but refusing to retreat from the threat. The Earth trembles, empowering them with the Liberty Force, giving them the power of New Zealand’s extinct birds and becoming the Change. With the mystical power of the Earth Force and military technology, the Changemen begin their war against A.K.I. And the Afton Empire.
