The Elephant and Piggie Show

Paramount+ is getting into the Mo Willems’ animated animal business in a big way. The streamer announced today that it has greenlit two animated series, The Elephant & Piggie Show! and The Pigeon Show! Starring the Pigeon, based on the best-selling children’s author and illustrator’s books. This is the first time Paramount+ is collaborating with the author’s Hidden Pigeon production company.

The Addams Family (Second Animated Revival Film)

Wednesday creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are creating a new animated Addams Family feature film.The two showrunners of the Netflix series are developing an Addams Family reboot for Amazon MGM Studios which will be unconnected to Wednesday - which stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams - and the previous two animated films released in 2019 and 2021.Gough says his and Millar's inspiration is to honour the characters created by late American cartoonist Charles Addams, which were turned into a popular TV series in the mid-60s.Speaking on Deadline's Crew Call podcast, Gough said: "We’re working on it with Amazon MGM and with Kevin Miserocchi who runs the Addams Foundation, he knew Charles Addams and the keeper of the Addams flame, and with Gail Berman and John Glickman. Moomins (Annapura Animated Feature)

Moomins are coming to life as an animated feature film, written and directed by Rebecca Sugar. The film, to be created by media company Annapurna, will be the first Moomin film produced in the United States. The new Moomin film is the first Hollywood adaptation of Tove Jansson’s stories about the Moomin family and their friends. The film will be created by the entertainment company Annapurna’s animation division, founded in 2022 by former Disney animation execs Robert Baird and Andrew Millstein, and known for the Academy Award®-nominated NIMONA.

Universal has announced that DreamWorks Animation’s Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie is set to be released in theaters on September 26th, 2025. The movie is based on the live action/CGI Netflix series Gabby’s Dollhouse, created by Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey. The series centers on twelve year old Gabby, who uses her magic cat ears to shrink down to the size of a toy with her stuffed toy, Pandy Paws, who comes to life, and goes on various adventures inside her dollhouse. The activity based series encourages flexible thinking and learning from your mistakes. In the movie, Gabby is going with her Grandma Gigi on a trip to Cat Francisco. During the trip, her dollhouse ends up in the hands of an eccentric cat lady named Vera. Now she has to set off on an adventure through the real world to get the Gabby Cats back together and save the dollhouse before it’s too late.
