shingler: The Movie

A movie about the myCast user, shingler. This story has been called a lot of things, not including "inspiring", "heartwarming", "breathtaking", or "groundbreaking". It is a tale of love, tragedy, and other things that sound good in movie trailers, none of which are executed particularly well. The studio was so impressed with the treatment that they gave it a budget of literal pocket change as a challenge to the director, who has promised that the final film will be a summer blockbuster hit. Despite this, they've already scheduled several tweets blaming its inevitable failure on the audience not "getting it".

A superhero fanboy wants to be a hero, but he doesn't have any powers. Then, he does a stupid thing, and is rewarded by Anime Superman giving him the bestest powers evar. Now he's going to become the next Anime Superman. ...That's pretty much it.

A bunch of gamers get trapped in a VR MMO, where if they die in the game, they die for real. It sure is a good thing the main characters have plot armor, otherwise they could be in real danger.

For some reason, in 2012, Tumblr fell for Illumination's version of the Once-ler. Also, because they're crazy, they started shipping him with himself. It just kept getting worse from there, snowballing into such absolute insanity that even Tumblr had to take a step back.

Self-insert Mary Sue is OP. That is literally the entire plot. It's infamous for getting cheated to the top of the New York Times' bestseller list (as if getting on it was an accomplishment), and also for being really poorly written.
