Weapon X (MCU)

Weapon X was a code name for a secret U.S. Government project intended to deliberately induce superpowers for military purposes. It was the tenth installment of the Weapon Plus Program. In the case of Weapon X, the mechanism was genetic engineering, specifically creating mutations in normal humans and enhancing preexisting mutations.

Excalibur is a government-sponsored team of extraordinary individuals with special abilities. They fight for the people of the United Kingdom and their interests around the globe. Frequently counting with Captain Britain among their ranks, the team is usually formed by British heroes and former members of the X-Men.

X-Factor Investigations was founded as a detective agency run by Jamie Madrox, a.k.a. the Multiple Man, a mutant with self-replication abilities. Using his connections to FBI, Madrox became a licensed detective and established an office in District X, the neighborhood known as Mutant Town. The agency was initially named "XXX Investigations".

The Heroes For Hire is a small business licensed by the state of New York which offered a full line of professional investigation and protection services.

X-Ternals

After he left the X-Men, Gambit formed a group of thieves known as the X-Ternals, who would rob from Apocalypse and give to those who needed it. Members included Jubilee and Sunspot, as well as former musician Lila Cheney and her former roadie Guido Carosella. Unknown to all, Guido was secretly a double agent for Apocalypse. Their activities gained them a constant enemy in Madri Richter who became obsessed with capturing the X-Ternals in order to curry favor with Apocalypse. Gambit developed a romantic relationship with Lila, much to Guido's chagrin.
