Ursus, also known as The Sea Sorcerer or Victor in his human disguise, is the main antagonist of the 2024 musical fantasy film The Young Merman, the live-action remake of the 1998 animated feature film of the same name.
He is the cecaelia sea sorcerer who was banished by Queen Tethys, his sister, from the aquatic kingdom of Atlantheia. However, finding out that Prince Aaron, Tethys' youngest son and his nephew, is in love with a human princess named Emily, Ursus sees this as an opportunity to trick his nephew into signing a deal with her to start a chain of events to overthrow Tethys and take over the Seven Seas, putting everything Aaron knows in jeopardy. He is portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch.
