Urko is a fictional character who first appeared in the Planet of the Apes television series, played by Mark Lenard. The character was inspired by Ursus from Beneath the Planet of the Apes, and in early series outlines that was also his name before evolving to 'Urso' and finally 'Urko'. In the later animated series a similar character of the same name was voiced by Henry Corden.
