Edward Nigel Maynard was a sociopathic soldier, who is an inmate and patient at Arkham Asylum. He is known to leave behind riddles. Maynard was a member of a group called the "Strange Rangers" who were a crew of criminal veterans. When Bruce Wayne, under the guise of '"Robert Lowery" also known as Firefly, Maynard gave Bruce a riddle to solve to help him survive and informs him that there are only four Strange Rangers left, including them and a former super soldier, Roland Desmond.
