Mark Steven Kirk (born September 15, 1959) is a retired American politician and attorney who served as the junior United States Senator from Illinois from 2010 to 2017. A member of the Republican Party, Kirk was previously a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Illinois's 10th congressional district. Kirk calls himself a social liberal and fiscal conservative.
