Makoto Naegi (Japanese: 苗木 誠), also known by his title The Ultimate Hope, is the main protagonist of the Hope's Peak Saga of the Danganronpa franchise.
Unlike most students, he was selected to attend Hope's Peak Academy because he won a lottery, earning him the title of Ultimate Lucky Student. He is also the older brother of Komaru Naegi and the archenemy of the "Ultimate Despair" Junko Enoshima whom he brings to the tables of stopping her plot.
