Máiréad Tyers is an Irish actress from Ballinhassig, County Cork, who rose to international prominence as the lead character Jen in the Disney+ superhero comedy Extraordinary (2023–2024), a performance that earned her a 2024 BAFTA nomination for Female Performance in a Comedy Programme. A 2020 graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), she made her feature film debut as Auntie Eileen in Kenneth Branagh’s Academy Award-winning Belfast (2021) and has since appeared in the action thriller Dead Shot (2023) and as Susannah in the Prime Video period dramedy My Lady Jane (2024). In 2025 and early 2026, Tyers further solidified her status as a rising star with a major role as Helen Walsh in the Marian Keyes adaptation The Walsh Sisters and by joining the second season of the dark comedy Obituary as the eccentric newspaper editor Vivienne Birch. Tyers is also known for her extensive voice and dialect range, having expanded her work into audio projects following her early stage success at the Edinburgh Fringe.
