Doctor Curtis "Curt" Connors is an amputee scientist who became known as the Lizard after injecting himself with an experimental serum to grow his arm back, giving him reptilian anatomy. He also developed a split personality with the desire to turn the rest of the human race into lizards, in what he believed to be was the next step in human evolution, but was defeated by Spider-Man.
Due to a failure in Doctor Strange's spell, he was transported from a time before his defeat through the Multiverse to another universe with its own version of Spider-Man. The Lizard was immediately detained by Doctor Strange, but set free by Spider Man who hoped to reform him alongside the other multiversal visitors; the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Electro, and Sandman, to prevent their dark fates in their own universes. When plans went awry thanks to the Green Goblin's meddling, the Lizard broke free and went on a rampage, eventually confronting Spider Man and two of his alternate selves, one the very same Spider Man from his own universe, at the Statue of Liberty. The trio bested the Lizard, and used an antidote to transform him back into a human for good. After the battle, Connors was returned to his own universe.
