Kirill Safonov (born June 21, 1973) is a distinguished Russian-Israeli stage and screen actor, director, and musician, widely recognized for his magnetic screen presence and nuanced portrayals of complex, often brooding protagonists. After graduating from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in 1997, he performed at the Mayakovsky Theatre and the Stanislavski Drama Theatre before moving to Israel, where he became a leading actor at the prestigious Gesher Theatre in Tel Aviv. He achieved massive national fame in Russia with his breakout lead role in the long-running series Tatyana's Day (2007) and has since maintained a prolific career starring in high-end television dramas and films, including The Terms of the Contract, A Brief Guide to a Happy Life, and The Cold Shore. An accomplished artist across multiple mediums, Safonov is also a professional singer-songwriter who released the album Dreams of an Impotent and has earned acclaim for his directorial debut with the short film Fourth.
