Janai is a Sunfire Elf originating from Lux Aurea. She is the older sister of Karim, the younger sister of Khessa, and a great-granddaughter of Aditi,[3] whom she refers to as "grandmother".[4] She succeeded her sister as the Sunfire Queen after the latter was killed by Aaravos.[5][4] However, she prefers to be known by her military title: "The Golden Knight of Lux Aurea".[6] She is also the wife of Amaya.[7]
